School Shutdown!

Last week our school was being tested for asbestos, a deadly fiber if tampered with. We weren't allowed in our classes so the school was shutdown for a week.

The next day there were 3 buses waiting for us so that we could be transferred to Tamaki Primary. They welcomed us with a powhiri performed by their School's Kapa Haka group. We were then informed on where we would be for the rest of the week. We didn't have the resources we usually worked with so we just had to go day by day.

I can't wait to be back in our classroom and have all our resources back.

Training To Be Better

We have just started basketball training with a coach. The coach has come to teach us the proper ways of playing basketball.

Our class greeted our coach with a warm welcome and we soon got started. First we had to get in to 4 even groups. For our first session we did some warm up drills to understand the sport more. He showed us a variety of skills we should use while playing basketball.

Some of  them were  how to dribble and even a new skill we didn't even know called Jump Stop. We also got to experience dribbling with our hand we aren't experienced with. We all participated very well and enjoyed it very much.
